Responsibilities
- Election of the school director
- Election of the deputy director
- Appointment of the members of the schools' committees (especially the Committee on Teaching and Learning and the Examination Board)
- Appointment before members of tenure committees and appointments committees, when necessary
- Preliminary work for the faculty council and handling legitimate applications, especially those within the scope of the Hochschulrahmengesetz (Framework law on universities and colleges)
- Implementation, evaluation and accreditation of study programs
- semestral passing of the curriculum
- school policy

Meetings
While the university is in session, the school council meets monthly. The public part of the meetings may be attended by non-members (teachers and students).
