The purpose of this presentation is to explore the evolution and history of university libraries in Pakistan. It also looks at the challenges in the provision of modern library services in the universities of the country. The study is primarily based on an extensive review of the published literature, personal observations, and experiences of the author, and some discussions with fellow library professionals.
